What kind of vehicle should I look for if I would like to purchase a used, reliable mini-van or truck, built from about 1999-2001, seats 6 people comfortably and doesn't guzzle gas like crazy?

I am driving a Nissan Frontier XE. The ride quality is awful because it is a mini truck. I changed shocks. In order to increase the load, I put the toolbox. Today, I put a set of new passenger tires not truck tires. Well, man. it is not improved much. Does anybody know how to improve the quality of mini truck?

me and some friends want to do a mini truck project what would be a a good setup and on what type of truck?

like gmc,ford,mazda,toyota? want economy and reliabiltiy for 2nd vehicle, only options a/c and auto could care less about accesories
